3-31-2011

Finally--
oh, how I have missed my two good friends--
"flip" and "flop"!

3-30-2011

Today was an extra long day at work--
so by the time I arrived home there
was just no energy left for dinner.
I made some Mac-N-Cheese--
and not the homeade kind!
The funny thing is, my kids went on and on
about how good the Mac-N-Cheese
tasted because it had been
so long since they had it.
Who knew?

3-29-2011

I am not one to pick
"favorites" when it comes to movies-
but Tangled is definitely in my
top ten all time favorites!
I love everything about this movie!

3-28-2011

It's spring in Utah!
You cannot really see the snowflakes that
are gently falling--and
I know you cannot feel the wind
that is madly blowing!
All of this does not stop
my boys from playing
a little basketball!

3-27-2011

A lazy Sunday afternoon!
Our "no TV" rule on Sunday forces
my children to stick their noses in some
books-and creates an
opportunity for sibling bonding!

3-26-2011

Me and my girls!
With Mary turning
12 in less than two months,
I made an executive decision and
took her with Cassidy and I
to our church's meeting for
the young women and their mothers.
It was a great blessing to be
there with both of my wonderful daughters.
I will fall asleep tonight feeling peaceful and
blessed!

3-25-2011

Friday night we celebrated the end
of yet another cheer season!
(Just in time for a new one to
start--tryouts for next year
are in two weeks!)
Cassidy was given the
award for biggest BYU fan!
I could not have been more proud!

3-24-2011

There goes my bracket!
Still you cannot complain about
the kind of season our Cougars had
this year!
The whole nation gave in to
"Jimmer-mania"!
A lot of publicity about our honor
code at BYU--and expecting
kids to live up to that code--
a showing in the sweet 16--
and a song that will forever
be stuck in my head-
"Teach me how to Jimmer-
teach me, teach me how to Jimmer!"

3-23-2011

Our stake Young Mens Presidency did this awesome
night for the young men in our stake who received
their "Duty To God" award last year.
The boys got to take their fathers on a tour
into the depths of the cougar football locker room,
Bronco's office, weight room, etc. They got to see
all kinds of cool
stuff that a BYU football fan would love to see!
It's a good thing I don't follow college football
or I might have been a little jealous,
but then again, as Alex's mother, I really did not
do a whole lot to help him get his Duty To God.
(can you hear the sarcasm dripping from my voice?)
This is Alex standing in front of a map marking where
all of the BYU football players are currently serving missions!
How many days until football season?

3-22-2011

Because Mary is so awesome, she
let me take an awesome picture
of her right before she had
her braces put on!
Of course, the typical picture would
have been Mary after she had her
braces put on--but I am trying to be more creative--
and Mary was very accommodating!
In true Forsyth style she had
blue and white bands put on as well!
Love that girl!

3-21-2011

As Connor called it-
"heaven in a bowl!"
The only thing that could have made our
Family Home Evening treat
better was if it was warm enough to
be eating it outside!
Soon we will be eating the
strawberries from our own patch--
I'm craving summer!

3-20-2011

One day she's Cinderella at the ball--
the next day she's Sleeping Beauty!
(I hope no bugs flew in her mouth
while she was out!)

3-19-2011

Josh and Cassidy all dressed up
for the Prom. She looked amazing and
he looked quite "James Bondish"!

3-18-2011

The luck of the Irish was with Cassidy yesterday
(and a very patient mom, I might add)
as she was able to get her drivers
license.......finally!

3-17-2011

We celebrated St. Patrick's day
by eating Chinese food and watching
some Cougar basketball!
Let's hope it's BYU's
lucky day!

3-16-2011

These are the sort of images that have been
flooding my computer and TV screens the past
six days. A major earthquake rocked Japan
last Friday and a subsequent tsunami
has destroyed so much landscape
and property and lives--it is
just too much to even comprehend.
I wept when I read that Elder Ring was O.K.-
and I wept again when I heard all the missionaries
were accounted for and safe.
Prayer is just about the only thing that
brings comfort when you begin to think about what the
survivors in Japan are facing in their future.

3-15-2011

Our first bar-b-q of the season!
The weather was so warm today-
the kids were outside playing-
there were some birds chirping-
daffodils are peeking up--
I'm afraid to hope--
but maybe spring is on it's way!

3-14-2011

A day off from school and work
gave Darren the opportunity
to get something from his
"honeydo" list checked off!
This was a "before" picture of
Cassidy's room--
paint color a little drab for a teenage
girls room--

After

Much Better--
so fresh and bright!

3-13-2011

So glad to have my speaking assignment
in church over!

3-12-2011

Good Friends and good food
make the outcome of this
BYU game a little easier to stomach!
The third time was a charm for
San Diego State.
Bummer!

3-11-2011

Our date night was a "double date" night!
We took Dustin and Danielle to
a production of Hairspray
at Hale Center Theater in Orem.
It was a very professional production and
a display of some amazing talent.
Darren was able to keep track of the BYU
game going on at the same time
thanks to this new iphone!

3-10-2011

Are ya kidding me??
And that was with my 5 cents off
coupon at Smiths!

3-09-2011

It's a bunch of skittles to repay
a certain someone for a bunch of
sand! It's Prom time in Utah--
and there are all kinds of questions
being asked and answered!

3-08-2011

It's official!
After an hour of waiting in line,
Mary and Zach are registered for Middle School!

3-7-2011

For family home evening we went down to BYU
to attend an art exhibit with paintings
and etchings by Carl Bloch.
He is responsible for many
of the paintings of Christ that
the LDS church uses in lessons
and on magazine covers etc.
It was a little to much "culture" for some of
my children, but there was no
arguing that the spirit was there.
My favorite painting was a portrayal
of Jarius' daughter.
In the painting the mother is weeping over
her sweet daughter, who has just
died. Behind her, in the shadows is Christ.
As the mother weeps over her child,
she is oblivious to the miracle that
is about to occur.
It made me wonder how often that
happens in our own lives.
We are so focused on our trial or sorrow,
that often we do not even anticipate
the miracle that is waiting in the wings.

3-6-2011

Cassidy and Zach were
responsible for Sunday desert!
Chocolate Applesauce Cake
Yummy!!

3-5-2011

We have some dear friends who are
moving to the Sunshine State of California!
This huge love sack would not fit in their
new home, so we offered to
take it off their hands!!
My kids are loving it!

3-4-2011

Facetiming my parents
(on Darren's new i-phone)
so we can discuss
the BIG NEWS!!
They sold their house and will
soon be calling the great state of
Utah, home!
My mom texted me the good news
in the middle of my pm
pre-school class. I was then
forced to explain to my students
why sometimes Mrs. Forsyth cries
because she is happy!

3-3-2011

So, whenever I am feeling the need to learn more about
or get better at any particular thing,
I feel the need to read a book.
(that is how I am learning more about photography!)
Yesterday's drama left me feeling
like I know very little about parenting-
so here is another book to add to my
collection!

3-2-2011

We had a high stress day at our house today!
A lot of teenage drama and to be quite honest
it is EXHAUSTING!!
A good friend of mine came to the rescue
last night with a Diet Dr. Pepper--
and some wonderful words of
encouragement, sympathy and
love.
Thank-you dear friend!

3-01-2011

Happy March!
This is what a trip to Costco with
our American Express rebate check
looks like!

2-28-2011

The twins are officially ready for middle school!
They have their shots to prove it!
Is mom ready for them to go to middle school?
Not a Chance!
